PRACTICE ROOM (GUITAR LESSONS)
I am almost done with the first lesson of Justins Guitar Lessons. I am just perfecting my chord switched and the Star Wars theme song.

CLASSROOM (THEORY & ANALYSIS)
I found this activity very interesting. The song analysis I watched was How The Weekend Writes A Melody. What interested me the most was how he uses the minor pentatonic scale to give a cool feel. Additionally how he uses low and calm instrumentals and contrasts that with very rhythmic vocals to create a false sense of a groove that’s not there.

STUDIO (SONGWRITING)
What I really liked about the video is how he explained not only what you do to the song to make the chorus sound bigger but what to do to the instrumentals. This is going to help a lot.

WHAT I LEARNED and PROBLEMS I SOLVED
The first thing I learned in the classroom was that adding a rhythmic vocal to calm and cool notes make the listener think there is a groove that’s not really there. I also learned in the studio that to make a chorus sound bigger, you make what comes before it sound smaller. Additionally adding the instrumentals slowly, and adding instrumentals to the chorus makes the chorus sound bigger. As far as problems, I didn’t come across any.
