Personal Success Definition

How I define success is when you have worked so hard for something and finally has respect from some of the best in that industry. Also if you can make money off that thing than if your successful in the area than money shouldn’t be an issueDrake is extremely successful. According to the Grammy Awards, Drake has 4 grammies and 40 Grammy nominations! That has more than earned him the respect of the best in the music industry. Not only that but he has made over $150 million dollars from rap according to Business Insider. Making him the 5th riches rapper.

Skills for Success

1. Like-able. Drake on his come up was a very likable person. When he was younger he wasn’t very politically or socially minded so he wasn’t controversial. Along with this he doesn’t like beefing with people. But Drake was very lyrically minded which made it easy for rappers to be drawn to him

2. Knowledgeable. While other rappers worry about streaming services and how they give their music for free and pay the artist next to nothing, Drake found out how to play the system. He knew that the more plays you get, the more popular you are, and the higher you can charge the commission fee for concerts.

3. Evolving. Drake has been always quick to find new trends or songs and sample them, and focus on popularity globally. Drake is always trying to find new sounds and get better as an artist.

How They Used These Skills

Drake from a young age used his skill of being likable. When he was 22 it got him a record deal with Lil Wayne’s Young Money Entertainment. From there, he used his skill of Evolving to continuously get better and better. Once he got big enough he used his knowledge to play the streaming service and made millions off of tours.

Challenges Overcome

Drake keeps his life private so we don’t know too much about his past but for someone to get where he is, they would have to grind on making music, focus on getting better, and push for record deals. There is no dought that it took a lot of perseverance to get where he is.
